Beer garden and kiosk in the Königshain Hills
The kiosk outside the Hochsteinbaude is self-service: collect your order, find a seat and enjoy the view of the granite rocks. It is open at weekends from May to October, whenever the weather is right for sitting on the terrace. Ideal for walkers, climbers, families, and cyclists and motorcyclists touring Upper Lusatia – the playground is right next door.
What the kiosk serves
Two homemade soups – lentil soup (Linsensuppe) and vegan chickpea soup (Kichererbsensuppe) – and bockwurst sausage with home-baked bread. Plus drinks.
Prefer to sit at a table and take your time? The mountain inn offers freshly cooked regional food with table service.

A beer garden among granite rocks
Around 200 square metres of outdoor terrace in the middle of the forest, right beneath the observation tower. Children can let off steam in the playground with its swings and see-saw, or explore the “Hochstein” rocks, which are open to climb on. The terrace and toilets are also accessible to wheelchair users.
Kiosk hours, day by day
The kiosk opens on Saturdays and Sundays from May to October, weather permitting. The inn itself is open Wednesday to Sunday.
